By train

From the direction of Antwerp

descend at station Ghent-Dampoort

• from here it is approximately a 10 minute walk: cross the traffic hub in front of the station. You will see a major canal ending in the middle of the traffic hub. Take the Dampoortstraat in the direction of the city centre. At the end of the street cross the bridge over the Leie. Take Steendam. At the end of the street you come to the Sint-Jacob's church. Continue past the church in the direction of the Belfry (Belfortstraat). The first street to the left is the Kammerstraat.
• by bus (ca. 3 minutes): take trollybus line 3 in front of the station in the direction of the City Centre. Descend at Sint-Jacobskerk

from other directions

Descend at station Gent-Sint-Pieters.

• Turn left immediately as you leave the station. Under the railway-bridge immediately next to the station, you will find the streetcar-station (trams). Take streetcar line no. 1 (nos. 1, 11, 12). Descend at Korenmarkt (the stop is announced on the streetcar). Go right (Limburgstraat), past the Emile Braunplein, turn left just before the Belfry to the Botermarkt (in front of the City Hall). Follow the street (Belfortstraat). The last street on the right before you reach Sint-Jacob's church (Sint-Jacobskerk) is the Kammerstraat. The 18th c. building you see at the end of the street is the Academy building.
